Community Involvement

As an office we not only provide the highest level of service to our clients but aim to support our community that supports us as well.  We actively support the American Cancer Society through participation and donation.  We support the Kentfield Schools Foundation, Redwood High School, the Paul Harris Foundation, Multiple University of California campuses, the Marin Theatre Group, and the Boy Scouts of America (two of Susan's sons are Eagle scouts).  We were founded by Susan Marchant Angel, a mother of four children, and we believe that our future is our youth and the arts.

SUSAN MARCHANT ANGEL
Attorney, CEO and Founder

Susan has nearly 30 years experience in estate planning and real estate legal matters in Marin County.  She has handled thousands of landlord-tenant matters, including hundreds of unlawful detainer court trials and a number of jury trials.  She has also handled jury and court trials in other areas of real property law, in estate disputes, and in other areas of law.

Susan has been in private practice in Marin County since 1983.  Before that, worked in San Francisco at the law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown, Enersen, and before that clerked for Judge Sneed at the United States Court of Appeals. 

Daughter of Jean and H.G. (“Bud”) Marchant of Kentfield and Granddaughter of the late Helen and Alva Nipper of San Anselmo.  Married to Jerry Angel.  Mother of four children, two in college and two who recently graduated from college.  Susan is a third generation "Marinite" - born and raised here.  She graduated from Redwood High School, and currently lives in Greenbrae.

Graduated at top of class from UCLA Law School, Phi Beta Kappa, Order of the Coif, Law Review, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma MBA Honor Society, and other awards.

SCOTT LAFRANCHI
Associate Attorney

Scott is a full-time attorney in our Law Offices.  He graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in May 2004 and passed the July 2004 California Bar Exam.  Scott graduated from Davidson College in North Carolina before deciding to attend law school.  During law school he received honors in Mock Trial and was active in multiple law societies including the St. Thomas More Society.  His legal background includes time in the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office with the Litigation Team and he recently worked in Washington DC with the American Farmland Trust on the 2007 Farm Bill.  Scott is a native of Nicasio and Mendocino.  His family has been dairy ranching in West Marin and Sonoma County for several generations.  Scott is a member of the Marin County Bar Association, the Marin County Barristers Association, the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, and Rotary International.
